You’ll think we’re probably biased because this village is home to our branch, but we’ll keep repeating it fiercely: we simply love Argegno (pronounced ar-GEE-nioh).
We are talking about a charming hamlet located on the western shore of Lake Como - facing its waters in their deepest spot - only about 15 Km from Como.
A passenger ferry runs from the town and the famous L'Isola Comacina, Villa Balbianello, Villa Carlotta and the vibrant Tremezzo shore are all within easy driving distance of Argegno, making it the ideal base for your Lake Como escape. Consider that Argegno is somehow an unspoilt corner on the western coast of Lake Como.
This village is not glamorous and popular like many of its neighbors, and that is its purest allure. It has retained its individual, unique character. While Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio and the whole Tremezzina area are internationally popular and full of amenities, Argegno is less well known. So if you are looking for experiencing an authentic Italian village life, with fewer crowds and a humble and welcoming vibe, this is the destination for you.
Also, in our view (and per our experience), the piazza - the hub of the hamlet, with all its colorful townhouses - is one of the most vibrant of the lake.
The spacious villa is laid out over 2 floors. The bedrooms on the ground floor, with direct access out to the pool. The living area on the 1st floor to maximise the stunning lake views. It is light and airy and has large patio doors leading out to the spacious panoramic terrace. It is stylishly furnished throughout.
Ground floor:
4 spacious bedrooms and 2 bathrooms –
Bedroom 1 – double bedroom with lake views and direct access to pool
Bedroom 2 – double bedroom with lake views
Bedroom 3 – double bed + single bed with direct access to pool
Bedroom 4 – 2 single beds and space for extra single bed, if required at a small extra charge
Additional sleeping accommodation is on the first floor with a double sofa bed.
There are 2 shower rooms on this level, one between bedroom 2 and 3, with a door from each bedroom, making it an en suite serving both bedrooms.
A further shower room is located in the hallway serving bedrooms 1 and 4.
First floor:
Designed to make the most of the panoramic lake views, the open plan living dining & kitchen area has full-width patio doors, leading onto s spacious terrace with room to dine and sunbathe. A brand new kitchen has recently been fitted – with oven, microwave, 5 gas burners, dishwasher & washing machine. There is a large sofa/sofa bed which also provides sleeping accommodation for 2. Steps lead down to the pool level. The pool area can be gated off for safety.
Externally:
Private and sunny pool with spacious sunbathing areas overlooking the lake.
Car Parking
There is ample parking space directly below the property and you can drive directly up to the property to deposit your bags/shopping and then reverse back into the parking spaces. The villa is at the beginning of a single-track(tarmac) road and so is very quiet and safe with maybe 1 vehicle per day passing by. The access road is narrow and steep, so not suitable for minibus-type vehicles. Standard people carriers and normal cars are fine.

The property has satellite TV with English-language channels, a DVD player and DVD library.
There is a large charcoal BBQ for guests to use.
We highly recommend a car, as the walk back from the village of Argegno (approx. 15 minutes) is very steep.
