Positive: The renovated common areas were great, as were the managers that proactively helped us when things went wrong during our stay. Breakfast was delicious, the location is great, and the staff was kind.

Negative: We paid $592 USD for one night, and we didn't receive that back in value. We attempted to call the hotel five times between 11 am and 1 pm to arrange a pick-up from the train station around 2 pm (a service they proudly offer), but nobody answered the phone, so we paid for a cab on our own. Then, our room was not ready at 3 pm when we checked in, and we were told to wait for a phone call. We never received a phone call and were finally checked in at 7 pm after we went back to complain about the delay. (The manager was very kind and gave us free access to the self-service spa to make up for the mishap, which we appreciate). The room itself was in the un-renovated section of the hotel at the end of a dark hallway, had an odd musty smell, and had a cleaning cart + broom parked outside the entire time. While the staff was very kind and accommodating in attempting to make up for delayed check-in, the stay itself was very frustrating and not worth $600 USD (more like $250 given the location). I paid $400 USD to stay at Hotel Reine Victoria in December 2024 and am comparing this stay to that experience.
