Villa Poeti enjoys a 180 degree view of the Mediterranean, with the Island of Capri and its world famous faraglioni on the horizon, and the magical town of Positano to the right. The residence was a 16th century olive oil mill that was completely restored from 2003 to 2006 by the present owners. While the structure and some of its characteristic features, such as the cupola ceilings, the arches and even a good-luck stone on top of the upstairs master bedroom, were kept intact, modern and sophisticated features were added to the house. The bathrooms and the kitchens have a harmonious mix of handcrafted features, such as travertine marble sinks and old Neapolitan tile back splashes, and modern appliances of the highest standard.Villa Poeti is built on two levels and has two completely independent apartments, each with their own bathrooms, kitchens and outdoor terraces. On yet a third level there is a magnificent infinity pool (open April 30 - October 29) that makes you feel as if you could swim into the sea in front of you. A fourth terrace has a wonderful shaded limonaia, or lemon tree pergola, where you can sit and have a drink or rest on a lounge chair in peace and seclusion. The pool area offers an outdoor shower/changing area, and an outdoor grill. Additional amenities include: 24/7 ADSL Internet access, fax, pay phone, intercom system to communicate between floors and with the pool area, piped in stereo system, TV (in upstairs living room), and a utility room with washing machine and sink. There is an English speaking manager to meet you and on call if needed. Maid service (three hours per day from Monday till Friday) is included in the rental price.Mandatory cleaning fee, payable locally in cash 180 euros per week including mid-week change of towels and end-of-week cleaning with change of linens and towels.Parking is available on request on confirmation of booking, at a private garage, roughly 800 meters away from the house. Weekly cost Euro 105 payable locally in cash.Electricity: 200 Kwh is included in the rental price. Extra consumption is payable locally at 0,42 euro per kwh.
