From its peaceful backwater setting, the secondary road leads in no time to the centre of Colonno. The authentic lakeside can also easily be reached on foot, by going down a flight of 20-30 stone steps.
Once along the lakeside road, guests will find a café, grocery shop and bus stop along the main Via Regina. A lovely local lake lido perfect for sunbathing, lake swimming and enjoying lakeside drinks can also be found in this charming lake village.
Colonno offers a strategic base for exploring and enjoying the Central western shore of Lake Como; with the L'Isola Comacina, Sacro Monte di Ossuccio hiking route, Tremezzina Lidos, Villa Balbianello and Villa Carlotta attractions within 4-14 minutes' drive away. Colonno is also the starting point for the classic Greenway del Lago route, which passes along many picturesque villages and resorts to Griante. From Cadenabbia (15 minutes' drive away) the car and passenger ferry service offers carefree passage to the lovely resorts of Varenna, Bellagio and Menaggio.
The holiday home is also perfectly placed for reaching the local tennis, golf, cycling routes, water sports, boat rental, sailing, extreme sports and Italian Alp skiing opportunities.
