Villa La Clerici is a rare example of a late 19th century villa of delight deriving from a previous industrial-silk structure. Its history dates back to 1776, when Giuseppe Clerici built a spinning mill and a nearby spinning mill, founding the company 'Giuseppe e F.lli Clerici'. This activity continued until 1817, then stopped for more than a decade, and was resumed in 1830, following the rental of the structures. At the end of the 19th century, the new owner, Eng. Carlo Clerici, partner of Edison and later of Osram for the industrial production of light bulbs, transforms the complex into a villa of delight, with representative functions. To this end, the old spinning mill became a lemon house, a billiard room and a beautiful theater; the spinning wheel was redeveloped into a manor house, thus creating a central hall about 9 meters high and a series of 'neo baroque' style rooms. The park was built in the early twentieth century, in English style, and the old water basin, once used for industrial activity, was transformed into a sort of romantic pond, complete with a nymphaeum.
